Circadian cycles are weird.
I’ve been trying to consistently wake up early for the last 5 years. Except for a few weeks where I managed to join the 5 AM club, I’ve never sticked to it.
My circadian cycle has been completely messed up over the last year. It wasn’t unusual for me to work at night and sleep during the day. I like living at night, but I don’t feel as productive.
I’ve spent most of my early years as an early bird. Going to bed between 9 and 11 PM, and waking up between 6 and 7 AM. Upon entering college, the problems started to arise. I would party later and wake up accordingly.
A human’s circadian cycle is cultural, it heavily depends on the social settings surrounding us.
After graduating, I progressively stopped relying on an alarm clock to wake up. I don’t have any schedule, so I would sleep whenever I felt tired and work during my waking hours.
It’s been four days since I moved to my new place in Odessa, and I unexpectedly joined the 5 AM club again. I go to bed around 9 and naturally wake up between 3 and 5 AM. Since I’m by myself and I spend all my time making or writing, there is a chance I can keep this habit until December 7.
My social life is inexistent because it’s a chicken’s circadian cycle, but it’s Power November so I’ll enjoy it.
